Structural Construction Technology and Method of Outdoor Large Ferris Wheel

The construction technology and method of the outdoor large Ferris wheel structure should be determined according to the specific structural form and site conditions. At present, the construction methods of the completed Ferris wheel structure can be classified into the following three types.


1. Ground assembly and overall hoisting method of the outdoor large Ferris wheel

After the pan structure and the supporting tower structure form an integral structure, hoisting is carried out.

The vertical rotation installation method is divided into one-side rotation installation method and two-side rotation installation method. It is suitable for the flexible Ferris wheel structure system that relies on steel cables to provide centripetal force. This method has been used in Tianjin Cihai Bridge Ferris wheel structure.


The vertical rotation installation method can avoid a lot of high-altitude operations and has a lower risk, but it requires a large traction power system and a good braking system, especially the two-side rotation installation method also requires special treatment for the center axle of the Ferris wheel.


3. Center rotation installation method of outdoor large Ferris wheel


The center rotation installation method means that after the supporting tower and the axle are installed in place, the tower is used to set up the working platform or the hoisting system is used to install the Ferris wheel structure system from the center to the periphery one by one.
